At first glance, both phones have a similar appearance with a full-screen display with a 90Hz refresh rate and a punch hole design. They are also equipped with an 8 MP front camera.

Furthermore, they both have a similar configuration of the rear camera, with a 50 MP main camera and a 2 MP depth sensor. NFC (Near Field Communication) feature is also available, facilitating the use of e-money and digital transactions.

The differences between OPPO A60 and OPPO A79 5G are quite striking.

Although their front parts look similar, there are significant differences in terms of specifications.

OPPO A60 features a 6.67-inch screen with HD+ resolution (1604 x 720 pixels) protected by KK6. On the other hand, OPPO A79 5G comes with a larger 6.72-inch screen with HD+ resolution (2400 x 1080 pixels) protected by Panda Glass.

Another major difference lies in connectivity. OPPO A60 only supports 4G-LTE network, while OPPO A79 5G comes with support for 5G network. This results in a noticeable price difference, as phones with 5G technology generally have higher prices.

Looking at the back, OPPO A60 has two circles inside an ellipse housing the camera, while OPPO A79 5G has two circles inside a curved box serving as the camera housing.

OPPO A60 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 (6nm) Octa-Core processor consisting of Quad-Core 2.4 GHz Kryo 265 Gold and Quad-Core 1.9 GHz Kryo 265 Silver. Kryo 265 Gold is based on Cortex-A73, while Kryo 265 Silver is based on Cortex-A53. On the other hand, OPPO A79 5G uses the MediaTek Dimensity 6020 (7nm) Octa-Core chipset with a combination of 2.2 GHz Cortex-A76 and Hexa-Core 2 GHz Cortex-A55.

This difference makes OPPO A79 5G’s performance stronger than OPPO A60’s. According to AnTuTu v10, OPPO A79 5G scores 420,294 points, which is much higher than OPPO A60’s score of 310,725 points.

Both phones are equipped with a 5,000mAh battery. OPPO A60 is claimed to last for 14.75 hours for non-stop video playback or 30 hours for phone calls. Meanwhile, with the same battery capacity, OPPO A79 5G can last for 14 hours for non-stop video playback or 26 hours for phone calls.

With 45W SUPERVOOC technology, OPPO A60’s battery charging can reach 50% from 1% in just 30 minutes. Meanwhile, OPPO A79 5G is equipped with 33W SUPERVOOC feature, allowing the battery to charge from 1% to 51% in the same time.

Interestingly, the latest OPPO phones circulating in Indonesia also support this SUPERVOOC technology, ensuring fast battery charging without waiting long.

In addition to having IP54 certification for dust and water resistance, OPPO A60 has also obtained MIL-STD 810H military certification, demonstrating its resistance to shocks, impacts, temperatures, and other environmental factors.

However, OPPO A79 5G only has IPX4 certification, indicating resistance to water splashes, making it slightly below OPPO A60 in terms of durability.

OPPO A60 (Amazon) has two variants: 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage priced at $185 and 8 GB RAM + 256 GB storage priced at $213. Meanwhile, OPPO A79 5G (Amazon) with 8 GB RAM + 256 GB storage is sold at $257.
